Rev. Karen Pidcock-Lester, Co-pastor, is a graduate of Duke University and Union Theological Seminary in Richmond, Virginia. Kerry was ordained in 1982, and has been in parish ministry ever since, because she loves it. She served urban churches in Indianapolis, Baltimore, and Richmond prior to coming to Pottstown.
Rev. W. Carter Lester, Jr., Co-pastor, is a graduate of Duke University, University of Virginia Law School, and Union-PSCE in Richmond, Virginia. After practicing law for six years, he responded to a call to enter the ministry, and was ordained in 1990. He then joined Kerry as co-associate pastor of a downtown congregation in Richmond. He completed his Doctor of Ministry at McCormick Seminary in 1999.
In their dreams (or rather, fantasies…), Carter would be playing in the Final Four with Duke’s basketball team, while Kerry would be part of a musical on Broadway. But closer to reality, Carter enjoys gardening, tennis, cycling, and reading. Kerry enjoys traveling – anywhere, singing – anytime, playing the piano, getting lost in a good book, going to the movies, walking in the woods, sipping wine with friends. Most importantly, both Carter and Kerry delight in the company of their three daughters, Kate, Molly, and Elizabeth.
Olivia Stewart Robertson, Director of Children, Youth, and Family Ministries, is a graduate of Hope College and Princeton Theological Seminary. She is also a newly wed, married September 6th of this year. Olivia has a passion for teaching children and youth to worship God and loves to be playful whenever she gets the chance.
Debra Voytko, Organist, is a relative newcomer to our church. She and her husband David moved to Pottstown from Bucks County, where Deb served as organist at several Presbyterian churches, beginning in 1975. They have two grown children, Christy and Patrick.
Diane M. Land, Director of Music, has been conducting the choir and handbell choir at First Presbyterian since March 2007. She has a Bachelor of Music Ed. degree from the College of Wooster and took graduate courses at Westminster Choir College. Diane taught elementary music in the Abington School district and at Abington Friends School. She was also the children’s choir director at First Presbyterian in the 1990’s and a choir member in this church for over 20 years. She is married to a tenor in the choir, and has two grown children. She enjoys singing, reading and sewing.
